I’m not sure how to sync published images automatically when I change metadata like Title or Caption in Lightroom. The publish service is set up to sync Title, Caption, Alt Text, Description & Keywords. Should All Meta be checked?

The only way I can update the Title & Captions is to republish in Lightroom, but that replaces the image which does not need to happen. Must be an easier way?

    Hi @dgwoolley,

When Sync Title and Caption are checked, normally, any changes to the titles and captions will trigger a republish for those photos. This is however controlled by Lightroom, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a bit buggy on their side. In my case, it always worked though ?? For the other metadata, it will not work, so you might want to check “All Meta”.

Lightroom is a bit stupid and the Publish Service framework, when a republish is retriggered, generates a new export of the image. There is no choice. On the WP/LR Sync, on the WordPress side, I actually do a checksum of the previous file and the new file and only start the process of replacing files and so on if the file is a different one. So on WordPress that will be much faster. However, the images will still be sent to WordPress for analysis (and potentially, be processed).

    I hope it helps ??

Thanks Jordy – checking the All Meta box has fixed the problem, so that any changes made to Title or Captions mark the images for republishing.
