• Hi,

I know that a lot of people have had this problem and for varying reasons and posted support requests, but I can’t find a post that specifically matches mine or gives a clear fix.

I have been uploading image files to my site from my PC, however those images, after a while, will disappear. I have my site on auto-update and I have a suspicion that the images are affected when the updates take place. If this is the cause, I don’t know how to rectify the problem.

This only happens on the front page, images on other pages remain intact.

I would be grateful for any guidance.

  • Images are stored in the wp-content folder which is not touched during updates. What do you mean by the images disappear? Are they just missing on the site or are they no longer in the Media Library?

Are you using https? Are your images http? hover over them and check the links? Do you have enough resources to load the page quick enough? What does Tools – Health Check show? Any errors in the logs in wp-admin?

    Thanks for your reply.

If you click the link to my website under my post, page down to the Heading: ‘Sell Your Property In Conjunction With a Neighbour’, you will see below the heading a small icon where the image should be and the alt text showing. There are other missing images on the page further down.

Wow, it must be a local problem. Something must be blocking certain images on my site. I’m using Brave browser. I’ll count this as not a WordPress problem.

Images are also blocked using Microsoft Edge, Chrome and Opera browsers. Any ideas what could be blocking images?

Thank you for checking my site.
