The reason you are not seeing the post-discount cart total is that WCPT displays the cart ‘subtotal’ instead of the cart ‘total’ in its cart widget. This is to keep it in line with the default woocommerce cart widget which also only shows the cart subtotal and not the total. Following the woocommerce standard ensure that the two widgets do not show different prices on a user’s site, which would be disorienting to customers!
For now, to indicate this is not the final price, you could change the cart widget text to something more suitable that gives a clearer context of the displayed cost. For example: “Before taxes and discounts”.
However, I understand the requirement to have the ability to switch to cart total instead. Accordingly I am adding the facility to the latest build of WCPT and it will be available in the the next version of the plugin. You will be able to access it at: wp admin > product tables > settings > cart widget > cost source (new option).
WCPT PRO v2.1.0 will be ready later this month, and WCPT Lite v2.1.0 will follow in a week or so after that.
