    Hi Jordy,
The plugin is very useful, but one feature could make it a must have for news sites with 1000’s of outdated posts every few months that need to be purged to save server resources.

    Here’s the idea:
Include a bulk delete posts feature in the plugin (free or pro).
So we can choose to delete old posts by date range or older than X and also when the posts are bulk deleted we have option to automatically deleted any associate/attached media for the post.

Currently using WP Bulk Delete plugin and “Bulk Delete” plugin to mass delete old posts. They don’t have ability to delete attached media when bulk deleting, which is too bad. So this seems like a great opportunity for a developer to take advantage of… one stop solution for bulk deleting posts and attached media all at once with a click.

    Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

    Hi @wordmax,

It’s an idea, however, it’s a bit different from Media Cleaner. Media Cleaner is really about analyzing your system, it doesn’t assume that one image is linked to one post and that’s all. It analyzes your system first, to find all the media which are used. Then it matches this with your media,

Removing posts and their attached images would be a different process. That said… it’s extremely easy. You could even hook into the standard WordPress process which deletes a post and remove all the media attached to it. You can do it probably in less than one hour ??

It’s true that I could add an option named like this: “When a post is trashed, delete all the media which are attached to it”. I am not sure many people are interested in this though, as it’s not very safe.

@wordmax, there are at least two plugins on the WP plugin repository that do what you wish. Just search for ‘bulk delete’. They are relatively similar and work reasonably well, although you might need to run them over and over again (due to timeouts on very large sites).
