I wanted to open a plugin today but is says, ” requires a more recent version of WordPress and has been paused. Please update WordPress.” So I went to my updates page to see. My updates page says, “You have the latest version of WordPress. Future security updates will be applied automatically.” However I’m running on Version 4.9.8 .
How to update to 5.1 or higher? I see no option to update just to reinstall the one I have. I did tell it to “check again” but still no option to update. Any ideas?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hm, 4.9.8 isn’t even the latest version of the 4.9 branch.

Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
