• A while back I hired someone to create a wordpress site for me. I eventually took it over. Apparently it still sends emails (like password recovery emails) to some address other than mine, even though I’m the only user and my email address as a user is correct. (And I’m listed as an administrator.) How can I find out and correct where it sends these emails?

Alternatively, maybe the issue is that I’m hosting the site locally with MAMP. Maybe the emails aren’t getting through? MAMP has sent me email in the past.

  • What proof do you have, that its sending mails or is this just a suspicion?

I actually have no proof it is sending email, I only know that it should have sent some when I was locked out and needed a password reset and I never got it.

I think I need to experiment with this some more. If anyone has an idea, please chime in, but I think I need to do POE on this.

Can you use phpmyadmin to check the mail address for your account?
While you are there, you could also change your password.
