    Hi,

    In the checkout we have enabled VAT for business owners and we have also a multi step checkout see screenshot.

    Correct me if I’m wrong I think the VAT ID field is automatically validating/checking the input in the background after filling it up, right? So if the user put a wrong VAT ID an error after some seconds will be thrown without pressing the button going to step 2 see screenshot

    now that the error is there click on any page and that same error won’t go away see screenshot

    another bug is that if you enter a wrong VAT ID and you press the button going to step 2 an error will be thrown and if you press again the button going to step 2 with same wrong VAT ID it will proceed to step 2.

    please do not cross-post within our ticket area and in our free forum as this just causes confusion ?? I’ve attached my answer for completeness and would like to move further communication to our support ticket area.

    “yes, the field is being validated through AJAX when the user changes the input data. I’ll add another check to the next version on switching the step too – this is currently not really possible due to compatibility issues.

    The error should only be visible once on other pages (try a refresh). We do check whether we are on the checkout page before adding a notice.”
