WordPress.com/www.remarpro.com Difference

  • hi, can someone explain the differences between wordpress.com and www.remarpro.com, and which is better to have?

    are they both google friendly?

    also, what is wordpressdirect all about? i stumbled across it and didn’t understand why anyone would pay for it when the .com and .org ones are free

    am i the only one who’s confused bout the three wordpress services?

  • wordpress.COM is a company (owned by Automattic) that provides a free blogging service using WordPress. Note: columbo.wordpress.com would be an example of your possible ‘address’ at wordpress.com.

    www.remarpro.com is an organization that writes/updates/distributes WordPress software. This forum is one element of www.remarpro.com as is the Codex. If you have your own domain (e.g. columbo.com), and want to use WordPress, then you can download WordPress and install it on your hosting account. Your first step is to acquire a domain, if you haven’t already, then acquire a hosting account at any of a number of hosting services such as Dreamhost.

    You are correct you don’t need wordpressdirect!

    what happened to the resolved/unresolved option to posts?

    For some reason, posts in the Miscellaneous forum don’t have the resolved/unresolved/not a support question choice. So I’ll close this.

    Just a clarification: WordPress Direct is not affiliated or connected to WordPress in any way whatsoever.

    They may use WordPress software, but anybody can use the WordPress software as it is free.
