• Hello,

I get this message frin Imagify: Because the selected images did not have a backup copy, Imagify was unable to create WebP versions.

How do I fix this please as there are 488 images that Imagify can’t create webp versions?

    Thanks

    Hi @guyb9290

    Thanks for your patience!

Backup of your original images will be made by default if this option is on in Imagify settings (turned on by default).

If you don’t have it active, you should turn it on. If it was on, but you still don’t have backups, there could be a technical issue and we would have to help you further with that.

If so, let me know if you ever restored your website from a backup, as it can cause some images not to be transferred to the backup folder.

    Best Regards

    Same issue here.

Hi, same issue here. I have ?Backup original images“ enabled – webp creation worked up until now. Now I get the same error as OP although no settings changed and I also made had updates.

    Hello,

I have the same issue. Can we manually copy the images to the backup folder ?

    Thank you

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your patience! We missed this one in our queue.

There are a couple of other reasons we noticed that could cause this issue. Except the backup option is turned off, which is not the cause here.

    – if you restored your site from backup or moved it from one to another host, make sure all images from wp-content/uploads/backup folder were transferred properly

    – there is a problem to generate WebP images for those that have “Well done…” status and were processed before we introduced WebP feature (October 2019). These will not be processed again (to generate WebP) and this message will appear. You would have to find these images in Media Library (List View) and run the optimization again on them. The status will probably be “Well done…” again but WebP will be generated

If nothing of these is the case, please let us know. It would be ideal to create a ticket at https://imagify.io/contact and provide a temporary access, so we could see what else could be a problem.

    Best Regards
