WP MAIL SMTP Ver 1.6.2, Other SMTP, Email Test. Emails are sent correctly. Email test works if I remove the www. after the @.

On Send a Test Email I enter [email protected]. After clicking sending mail button it gets changed to [email protected]. Where does this come from? The settings page has from email and SMTP as [email protected].

  • Hi @roicarl,

Test Email field is prefilled with the currently logged in user’s email address. It’s pretty strange if currently logged in user’s email address is [email protected] and you’re seeing [email protected]. When you get a chance, could you please share the screenshot or the video screencast describing the issue? This might give us better idea on what might be going on.

    Thanks!

    Test Tab
This is not my WP login email address. The Send to address when I get to the test tab is as the image shows. If I remove the www. then send the test the test works but the email return shows as it does on the image-ie a www. has been added.

    Hi @roicarl,

Thanks for the details! It seems your user’s email address is saved as [email protected] in your database. Please double check your email address by going to Users > Your Profile > Email tab in your dashboard.

    Thanks!

Sorry-but I thought I did respond. Your suggestion resolved the problem. What I don’t understand is how an invalid email address can be added to the users. One thing that would help is if the test tab and the Send To field noted where the email comes from. I noticed that in an update from All-In-One Migration that it mentioned something about the www problem. Thank you for your help. Carl
