    Hi there,

I’m trying to post to the Woocommerce Plugin Forum so I hope I’m doing that! If this goes to a general support forum please could you tell me how to post in the Woocommerce one. Thanks.

I have set up the woocommerce plug-in and learnt how to use it. One thing I can’t figure out is this…

I add an item for sale and, using categories, attributes etc, include two different sizes and the stock for each is, for example, 100. The overall stock then shows 200.

However, for stock levels and low stock notification, I need each total to function separately.

So, if the small size is popular and sells more, that stock will run out faster but to know that surely I need separate stock quantities?

But I can’t figure out how to, or if I can, do that?

I could list the items separately but as you’ll see I was trying to streamline – one item with different options for size or mount.

    Many thanks for any advice.

    All the best,
    Nichola

  • For variable products, you have the option to manage stock either at product level or at variation level.

To manage stock at variation level, go to the product data metabox, Inventory tab, and ensure “Enable stock management at product level” is not checked. Then visit each variation in turn and you’ll find additional fields are now showing and these will let you set and manage stock for that variation.
