On our site, navajotimes.com, every morning when we check the site, the root directory’s permissions are at a weird level of 1705. We have to change them back to the correct level each morning. We contacted our web host, and the company says they do not do that, so they think it is your plugin causing the issue. This has been going on for more than a year. It also happened on another site I used to maintain, which does not exist any longer.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, can you carry out a test. Disable our plugin and check the root directories permission the next day. If it is set to level 1705 then you know that our plugin is not causing this issue.

Let me know how you go.

    Thank you

    Yes, thanks for that tip.

But, we tried that about a year ago on two different websites.

So long as your plugin was either not present, or was inactive, the permissions stayed the same.

Also, when we contacted the web hosting company, they concluded that it was your plugin that was causing the permissions to change. They said they have nothing on their side of operations that would cause such a change every single day.

Unfortunately, we have lived with the daily, every morning, routine of resetting the permissions in order to enjoy the benefits of the rest of the plugin. But, it is getting tedious and time consuming at this point.

Thank you for providing more information. In that case, can you share some details about your server specs and who is your host. This will hopefully help us further find out why this is happening in your site.

    Thank you

    Thank you for the information.

What type of server is it your site hosted in? For example: Windows or Linux? If it is a linux server, is it running Apache or Nginx?

    Regards
