Post URL redirects to category

  • Hi,

    I am having an issue with the blog. Every time I try accessing the blog post URL, I am redirected to the category page.

    When I using the following format for the permalinks: /%category%/%postname%/ I get redirected.

    However when I use/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ (day and name option) for the permalink, the post works well.

    Any thoughts on making it work for /%category%/%postname%/?

  • /%category%/%postname%/ is a bad choice of permalink structure. Both for performance reasons and because, as you’ve seen, it can cause strange effects. Try a structure that starts with a numeric such as %year% or %monthnum%.

    Thanks for the reply, that seems to be the issue.

    It’s important for us to show the category before the postname…
