• Since the update, the visual editor is having issues. The page is cut in a half and I can’t add new post texts. How to fix this?

    First off, try:
Troubleshooting with your browser: Your browser can help you identify JavaScript issues or conflicts and this article can assist you in doing that diagnosis.
    – If you have access to your Dashboard’s Plugins page, try deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Nineteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Are you using Chrome? A recent update to Chrome 77 caused issues with certain plugins that add metaboxes.

You can use an alternative browser like Firefox to access the page, or you can install the Gutenberg plugin to update the editor, which will also avoid the issue as well as giving you the latest and greatest changes to the editor. These same changes will make it into WordPress 5.3 in November.

I am having the exact same issue and I already tried disabling plugins and have the Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg plugin installed but nothing seems to be fixing this issue. Is there another Gutenberg plugin that is better?

@valora I was referring to the actual Gutenberg plugin, not an add-on.

If you install this, it replaces the editor with the latest version of the editor. This will fix this particular problem that was created by Chrome 77.

@otto42 OMG! Duh. Thank you! That definitely helped. I think I do have one plugin (Backupguard) that is conflicting as well which I may not even need… I may just deactivate that one.
