Ignite jpgs disappear after update to php 7.0, but gifs don’t!

  • Hi, I’ve used your theme for many years, several websites, because I really like it!

    However, now that I have changed my php from 5.6 to 7.0, all jpegs have disappeared from 2 of my blogs with Ignite theme. As I am a cartoonist, this is pretty serious. Gifs are fine. All blogs share the same plugins almost exactly.

    I tested all blogs with the PHP Connection Checker and they came out fine for Ignite.

    I tried this 2 days ago upgrading to 7.3 php and same thing. I was hoping 7.0 might work.

    Maybe it’s not the theme, not sure. I can see the jpgs once I hit edit, but I don’t know how to make them appear online any more.

    Thanks for getting in touch about this error.

    I’m looking at the site now and I think the error is actually related to the site’s use of SSL. When I view a page where an image doesn’t appear, I can find this error message about violating the “mixed content” policy: https://pics.competethemes.com/a4bdcaca3dbd. This means that the website is loaded with “HTTPS” and the image URL is using “HTTP”. For security reasons, browsers will not load any resources over an “HTTP” connection if the site is set to load with “HTTPS.”

    The one thing that’s unusual is that your site looks like it initially loads with HTTPS and then immediately redirects to an HTTP URL. I would login to your hosting account and check any redirects you have there to make sure they’re all using HTTPS. You also may want to contact support to ensure your SSL certificate is installed correctly.

    I can’t point out anything more specific without knowing the site’s configuration, but that should get you headed in the right direction to resolve this error.
