SVG image changes dimensions on upload

Hi,

If I upload an svg in the icons widget white space is added around it. The orginigal file has say the dimensions of 300x50px, but in the icons widget preview there is transparent space shown around the image and when I then add it to the page white space is added around it, say to around 300x250px. What to do? I want to upload small logos which don’t get blurry and low quality, which happens when I uploade them as an image with the height of 50px.
