Hi, I’m still having problems with the last update of Elementor (I also have Elementor Pro). I tried everything, deactivating even almost all plugins but without success.

After updating Elementor to the latest version, the button with this recommendation appears: “Elementor data updater” The database update process is running in the background. Taking a while? Click here to run it now

When I click it, it never updates, my server collapses and sometimes it takes me to the error site https://mysite.com/wp-admin/plugins.php?elementor_updater=continue&_wpnonce=4c48961922

When I install the previous versions 2.68 or 2.70 everything works without problems, but when I process to update to 2.71 everything gets complicated.

    Your support with this please.

  • I’m also having this same exact problem

Exact same problem for me. I am a pro license owner and it is causing this issue after update.

Hey all, seems like there is an issue with 2.7.1. We had this same issue, it is getting stuck and using up 100% of your CPU on SQL.

The temporary fix we found was to go into Elementor -> Tools -> Versions -> and do a rollback to 2.7.0. It will run the data updater again but should take just a minute or two. Hopefully, the team at Elementor will address this and put out a patch to fix it soon.

I rolled back a version and it fixed everything!! I was just coming back here to tell yas and seems others have figured this out as well. Hopefully they fix their issue. Anyone else using weglot translation?? My bug report said elementor had an issue with weglot. Maybe its a false positive report and was just elementor itself.

    Same problem here

Same problem here. Rolled back to 2.6.8. I am also a pro license owner and it is causing this issue after update.

I’m suffering this problem too. Data updater never ends.

I sent 2 emails to the assistance yesterday but I received no response. Is this the seriousness of Elementor? I have the site down and I’m losing traffic and money.

Absolutely and immediately release the update

Tried this: “The temporary fix we found was to go into Elementor -> Tools -> Versions -> and do a rollback to 2.7.0. It will run the data updater again but should take just a minute or two”

But after roll back and run the data updater again, get a error 500. Tried twice and had to restore backups.

    Please, fix it soon.

same problem..had to roll back to 2.6.8

We solved the problem with pro by deactivating it then reactivating it after upgrading and activating the core plugin.

The error 500 was resolved by duplicating the affected pages with an off the shelf plugin, deleting the originals and setting the duplicated page live. I can’t imagine doing this on a large site though!!

back to 2.6.8 handly to resolve the prob

    Same problem, my site down.

Just a question… I rolled bach to previous version 2.6.8, but still remain the message

“Elementor data updater” The database update process is running in the background. Taking a while? Click here to run it now

In fact I have several queries like this one:

Query SELECT option_name, option_value FROM *****_options WHERE autoload = ‘yes’

that cause my server collapse. So rolling back is not the solution for me. Anyone with the same problem?

    Further update:
When Elementor Pro is activated non of the widgets on the left hand side of the edit page load, just a spinning loading gif and greyed out
