I can install and import ok but when i come to view any Starter Site template it seems to be merged with my WP default theme; Twenty-Nineteen which i have network enabled as the fall-back theme across my entire network. I dont seem to be able to stop Twenty-Nineteen showing its header and footer. When i go to the customiser it only shows active theme as Twenty-ninteen. Ive got all required plugins enabled for the subsite and there are no errors when importing a new Starter theme this issue seems to be how to make it the ‘Active’ theme?? Even though the themes are importing they are obviously not right somewhere!

If i remove all the Twenty-ninteen header and footer elements via the customiser the Starter theme still has a huge expanse of blank white space where the deleted items used to be. Why dont the imported themes ever look like their demos???

Im now getting to the point were i can’t see the point of this useless plugin that everyone raves about having figured out hours worth of error messages and fixed them only to STILL have issues. Maybe uninstall is the best solution for Astra – there are much better FREE themes out there without this crap!

    Hi @trutherone ,

I guess you get this wrong. The starter site is designed with Astra theme as a base theme. It is recommended to have the Astra theme installed and Activated. We even show the notification on the dashboard for the same. Here is the screenshot: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17vA7oz_dEdWK62NYwJI6bx_ndGeaFnNc/view

So if you install and activate the Astra theme and then import your desired starter site, I am sure you would be able to see your website same as our starter site after import.

But if you are using it with WordPress default theme, you might see the difference in layout, as every theme has its own specific markups.

I hope this clears your doubts that why is it essential to have an Astra theme for using Starter site.

    Regards,
    Deepak

Why are you assuming i dont know what im doing??? I have Astra Starter Sites plugin installed and activated on all my subsites. I always check the specific plugin requirements for each starter-site theme before i import it. If you read my thread properly you’ll note the issue is: stater-site themes are not displaying as per your demos – My default theme (Twenty-nineteen) seems to still be ‘active’ and showing its header and footer around the Astra theme – why ???

Its good WordPress practice as per the Codex to always have a default/fallback theme defined for any WP website. Could the problem be that Astra Sites are NOT properly/fully compatible with Multisite Networks?

    Hi @trutherone ,

I am sure that won’t be coming from Astra.

Or share the link of your site where we can see your described issue.

    Regards,
    Deepak
