• This afternoon I attempted an upgrade to the latest 2.8. It was a disaster, and I was unable to even login to my admin panel, even with new passcodes.

My webhost restored my files from a midnight (last night) backup, but nothing works. I can’t reactivate my plugins, pages won’t display, and large portions of my sidebar are missing.

At this point, I just want to start fresh with a completely new version of WP and a fresh theme.

Before I do, is there any way to save/restore all my past posts and images. (I really don’t care about comments, etc.)

I tried following the codex tutorials but obviously missed something. (I’m very technically challenged, apparently.)

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi,

    Check with these options:

-> Disable all the plugins and then have a check with your blog.
-> Remove all the unwanted code from htaccess
-> Change your blog theme to default

If these does not work then provide your blog URL and exact error message

    Thanks,

    Shane G.
