    Hi,

    First of all, thanks for creating this great plugin!

    I have been struggling to make the product feed as correct as possible in generating product catalog on Facebook.
    At first, I didn’t like how Facebook catalog contained all different variations of the same products because that will end up in ads having same product cards everywhere.
    So after reading some support threads I went ahead and enabled these two options.

    Include product variations
    Only include default product variation

    This was all great now that our Facebook product catalog only has either simple product or default variation of a variable product.

    However what I realised today from Facebook catalog diagnosis was that it said 75% of page views cannot be retargetted due to unmatched Content_ID.

    Even though we made all variable product have default variation, the pixel still fires the Product Group’s Content_ID unless a specific variation is added to the cart.

    We have SKU as Content_ID
    For example,

    Variable(Parent) Product’s SKU = DGA
    It has 2 Variations
    Variation 1 SKU = DGA-1 (Default)
    Variation 2 SKU = DGA-2

    So basically when a user lands on this product page, pixel will fire
    Content_Type = Product_Group
    Content_ID = DGA

    Which makes sense because even though there is a default variation selected, it is not what the user has chosen. DGA-1 or DGA-2 will fire only when the user adds the variation to the cart.

    The problem though is that many people just visit the product page and exits without adding anything to the cart then the pixel would fire DGA and on Facebook Catalog, there’s no such product.

    Is there any work around for this issue?

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

    I thought about this again, I believe it has to be fixed with the Pixel Caffeine plugin that I’m using to fire pixels instead of Product Feed Pro plugin.

    I’m sorry about the confusion.

    Hi miikewordpress,

    No problem ?? Let us know when you need our help again!

    Best,
    Eva
