Categories as pages

The theme I am using displays pages in a neat looking row across the center of the page (over the header, I believe). See here: https://ithor.tchmachines.com/~qcgwynq/ I would like to use those links to link to categories so that if one was clicked on it would display the posts in that category.

I imagine that I could change the link manually so that instead of linking to a page it would go to the category. That seems a bit crude and would need me to resolve my theme editing problems detailed in another thread. Is there a better way (presuming I work the theme editing difficult out?)
