Thumbnails with childpage menu

  • Hello new to wordpress and this forum and would appreciate any help.

    Does anyone know how to display a list of childpages with a thumbnail.

    For example on this site (https://www.thepigguide.com/) in the left col it has thumbnails and titles of the main news story linking through to the main page.

    I’m able to list childpages using..

    <?php wp_list_pages ('child_of=31&sort_column=post_title&title_li=&'); ?>

    How do i get thumbnails in there too?
