• I recently installed the Woocommerce plugin to my Managed WordPress profile with 1&1 Ionos. The software works well, but I’m having an issue, which Ionos directed me to Woocommerce.
Essentially, I am trying to change the header information on my Shop page (I’ll be happy to send screenshot of the default Shop page). The current header information for this Shop page shows the title of my products instead of the name of the page in the header section, which should be ‘Product Shop | What We Sell.’ I have checked my settings and can’t seem to figure out how to affect these changes. Please note, that I understand that the product page, which I retrieve once I clicked on the actual product link, does show the name of the product in the header information, but I don’t want this information shown on my default Shop page. Am I clear? I look forward to your help. ??

    Hi @ieremias,

If I understand correctly, you want to be able to change the text that shows up on the browsers tabs, like this:

    Link to image: https://cld.wthms.co/BvpWnZ

In that case, you can use a plugin such as Yoast to customize it:

    Hope that helps!

    Hello,

I appreciate your reply. I would like to change the information in the header section (not the browser tab). Specifically, I would like the header information to reflect the actual page title name, which is “Product Shop | What We Sell.” What’s showing now is the last product that I added to my store. I want to clarify that the header remains the same after you click a product link. This is fine for the actual product, but for the main Shop page, I would like my page title name to show. I hope I’m making sense. ??
I have turned off construction mode so that you can see what I am writing about for the next few hours as I work through other issues. Please note that this website is a work in progress and not finished. Product Shop | What We Sell. I look forward to your help.

    Sincerely,
    JES

    Hi @ieremias,

I think I see what you mean, that this is showing a product name instead of the page’s actual title:

The image header there looks to be coming from your theme so I would recommend reaching out to the theme’s support team to see what the expected behavior is or if this is a bug.

    Thanks,

I checked the theme (Woocommerce customization features) settings and these show an option to display, “products and categories.” I suspect this is the problem, which causes the product name to show instead of the title name of the page. I think I’m at a dead end, because I’ve changed the settings and still get the same output.

    Anyways, thanks for your time!

    Hi @ieremias,

Is this the WooCommerce > Product Catalog setting you are referring to in the customizer? If so, that is to define how you want the shop page to show – either the individual products or by category, or both. Again, I would recommend contacting your theme’s developers/support team to why it would be pulling a product’s title for the header on the shop page.

    Cheers,
    Y

    Hi,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Thanks!
