Delete a page/category archive page

    Hello,
    I am extremely new to all this and have searched the forum to see an answer to this. It is probably so basic it hasn’t been asked.
    I have a new site that I don’t think has been indexed by Google (although I’m not exactly sure how to check that).
    I realize I have made some errors with my pages and categories and would like to delete 5 pages and 3 categories and convert 2 or 3 other pages to category archive pages. I’m reworking a lot as I’ve learned best practice along the way. It’s a mess!
    What I’m wondering is it that going to cause a lot of problems with 404 pages, SEO, and Google?
    My site has very little content right now and gets very, very little traffic.
    Any help anyone can provide will be so appreciated!
