Unable to connect to backend. Access denied. HTTP error 403

    Greetings.
    I have read the other posts concerning this error, but the solutions mentioned have not resolved my problem.

    My root path and server path have been verified in the File Manager settings. I have also verified the permissions on the folder for users is set to 0755 with www-data as both user and group. When logging in with a “contributor” user, the File Manager front end works correctly. The back end, however, gives me the above mentioned error. Changing the users role to anything but Admin makes no difference.

    Any help you can provide is appreciated.

    PHP version 7.0.33-0ubuntu0.16.04.4

    Hey @phillipbcs,

    Are you sure? you are using WP file manager because we never launched 5.1.7 version as you mentioned in your request. Please check author name to verify.
