    Hi there

I’d like to ask for a feature, which Jan a while ago, upon request availed an option to include if one wanted. It may still be there, though and I’m just failing to find it.

In the ingredient field, you have under “Note” an example of “extra virgin”, to (olive) oil, I suppose.
There are situations in which the “note” may be a different type, like you have “beef”, but you want to add “pork” or “mutton”, etc, etc as an option instead. In such cases, one has the ingredient: beef which would be linked, but if you would like to include mutton and make clear it’s an option, you have to put it in the same field as “beef” like I do in the linked example, but awkwardly the “ingredient” is “beef(or mutton)”.

In my specific example, I also wanted to include a note, whatever meat is used, should be “pre-cooked”. OK, in this case, too many notes.

I would suggest, assuming I wanted to add to add “mutton” OR “pre-cooked” as a “Note” for beef, that the “Note” have the option, by default to be highlighted, like with brackets, [something Jan provided a while back], so that … I can have under ingredients:

beef (pre-cooked) OR beef (or mutton) instead of beef pre-cooked OR beef (or mutton) BUT with only one of the meat ingredients linked as an ingredient.
    or
olive oil (extra virgin) … instead of just olive oil extra virgin.

I would think the brackets help to separate the Note from the ingredient, especially if the “Note” is a different type than just the type of olive oil.

The brackets for the “Note” in my recipe were added manually, but it’d be good if by default, they appear whenever one adds a “Note”.

    I hope it makes sense.

Some feedback would very much be appreciated.

Many thanks for the great plugin.

    Hello,
There should be an option to set a separator for the ingredient notes, with an option for a comma, parentheses or an blank space.

BTW… Do you have a development/testing version of your website? I am asking because I have re-written the plugin and I looking for some users to test it.

    Hi there

    Sorry for the late response.
Thank you for pointing out “option for a comma, parentheses or an blank space”.

I do have a copy of the website on Xampp installed on my local PC and would readily help test the plugin.
How do I get the download link?

    Regards

    Hello again,
Here is the Git repo for the updated plugin https://gitlab.com/w33zy/recipepress-reloaded

    It is about 80% complete.

    Hi there

I find it so far great and the only thing I have noticed as you see in => the screenshot is the missing icons for some items.

If I notice anything else, I will get in touch.

Another probably small observation on my Xampp-based test site:

My recipe archive page has always been site.com/recipe => https://www.habarisearch.com/recipe/, I assume “recipe” being taken from the slug. I know “recipes” would make more sense, … but I do not remember how I used “recipe” instead, possibly because it was suggested in the original plugin settings.

So when I updated to current dev. version, I noted “https://localhost/habarisearch.com/recipe“, which was inherited in navigation menu leads to a 404 not found error, although in the plugin settings, “slug” = “recipe“, below which is the descriptive text => “Recipe archives will be accessible at https://localhost/habarisearch.com/slug/lemon-cheese-cake”. I thought it should inherit /recipes/ from the archives url, … ?

The correct archive page is at =>
https://localhost/habarisearch.com/recipes, although strangely, when you click on individual listed recipe links, like https://localhost/habarisearch.com/recipe/half-cake-mandazi-recipe/, as you see, there we have “recipe”. With current, production version: https://www.habarisearch.com/recipe/half-cake-mandazi-recipe/

Is there some contradiction, or it’s correct, that way?

    Regards

Thank you so much for catching this, I have been working on this for more than a year and didn’t realize the mistake in this description. I am updating it now.

The recipe archive should be at example.com/recipes and the single recipe at example.com/recipe/hot-bun-recipe
