Error establishing a database connection

  • I just downloaded wp5.2.2 a zip file from www.remarpro.com. Extracted it in xampp htdocs and going to install wp but when I open browser enter localhost/path-to-wp it says “Error establishing a database connection” wp-config.php is not created yet.

  • Based on the details you have provided and since the problem is on your local machine, it will be difficult to debug and say anything. But please check if any of the points mentioned in this article or the comments on that article helps.

    @mongolianman, Please make sure that you have created a database from your localhost/phpmyadmin and then on the setup wizard of WordPress, just insert your database name and leave the password field blank. It should work fine.

    Also, kindly note that wp-config.php will be created after completing the setup-wizard of WP ??
