• Hello guys,

    The plugin works great!
But I am having issues with the webp images on iPhone devices (both using safari or chrome)

    I have wp-rocket and imagify.

    – On Android it works fine.
    – On Apple computer works fine (using chrome)

    – On Apple computer using Safari it does not fallback to PNG or JPG
    – On iphone devices it shows a square (both chrome and safari)

I tried to use <picture> and htaccess options and happens the same with both.

What seems to happen is that it does not fallback to jpg or png when the webp format is not suppported.

    Is this on the roadmap?

    Thanks

    Hi @xpconversions

Sorry to hear about the issue.

It looks like there is a problem with LazyLoad and WebP display on these devices/browsers. We are investigating this and I hope we will resolve it as soon as possible.

    Hi @umeshbathini

    Thanks for your patience!

The main issue that is caused by Imagify is if you use LazyLoad, we will fix this in one of our next updates.

However, if you use Cloudflare and rewrite rules to display WebP images, this is the main issue and you should use picture tag, or deactivate Cloudflare.

When you use rewrite rules and Cloudflare, Cloudflare will cache WebP images in some cases and will deliver these to iOS/Safari, which does not support WebP, so the layout will be broken.

?Let me know if you need any further assistance, I am happy to help.

    Best Regards
