Activating .xml after ftp upload?

  • I uploaded the .xml file from my wordpress.com blog to my self hosted wordpress blog via FileZilla – but how do I get it to “activate”?

  • You need to drop your xml file into the theme you wish to modify, you should start out by downloading the same theme you were using on .com then, upload your xml file to “wp-content/themes/<your theme>”. Once you have uploaded your xml file, active the theme in the admin panel.

    Thanks so much – I did this but now the file is just sitting in there…not activating or anything. Is there a second step I should be doing? Does it matter that I activated my theme THEN uploaded my .xml file?
