    Hi there,

I switched from the original AMP plugin for WordPress towards this one because of the design options. So far, great plugin ?? Thanks for creating!

However, I’m running into two issues:

    1. YouTube video not showing in a YouTube post type: This is the original post and this is the AMP post. As you can see, the original post includes an embedded YouTube video while the AMP post is only showing the featured image. I had the same issue with the original AMP plugin, however, the creators of the WordPress theme I’m using made some changes in their source which made the embedded YouTube video show up in the AMP version. By switching to this plugin it’s again the featured image showing up. Any clues?
    2. Google Search Console error: This is the error (screenshot) showing up in Search Console. In case you don’t want to click: “Disallowed attribute or attribute value present in HTML tag”, highlighting this source code –>
<script custom-element="amp-iframe" src="https://1" async></script>. Can’t find any clues in the original source code of the post. Any ideas how to get rid of this code?

Many thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

Thank you so much Kelly! We are glad to have you as our user!

    1) It’s possible to get that video with a feature we are building in this ticket: https://github.com/ahmedkaludi/accelerated-mobile-pages/issues/3444 – The only thing I need to know is how are you adding the video in the theme? Because I installed that theme and couldn’t find the option.

    2) Seems like there’s additional amp-iframe script getting added in the head, but seems like a 3rd party plugin or theme is adding, possibly the authentic theme or a video plugin, can you tell me which version of the Authentic theme? I’ll try to install and re-create it for you.

    Hi Ahmed!

Thanks for your fast reply. Great service ??

    1) Adding a video in this theme, to a post, can be done by changing the post type in the post itself (on the right). After selecting ‘Video’ there is an element created where you can add the YouTube URL (on the same post edit page). However, you need to make sure the video element is selected at the screen options (on top of the post edit page).

    2) I’m currently running version 5.2.6 of Authentic theme.

    Thanks again!

    1. I have found out the exact feature, thanks for the explanation.

Can you wait for this the end of the next week? so I will try to get that ticket in the next update. If it’s urgent then I will send you a workaround code which will work for now.

    2. Regarding this issue, I have raised a ticket: https://github.com/ahmedkaludi/accelerated-mobile-pages/issues/3535 – This will be fixed in the next update.
An alternative solution would be to use AMP plugin manager and exclude the Powerkit plugin from AMP.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Ahmed,

    1) No need for a workaround code, I will wait for the update ??

    2) Will this be included in the next update which you will release by the end of next week? If so, I will wait for the update so I don’t need to install another plugin.

    Thanks!

Yes, I have confirmed with the development team, it will be added in the next update.

    Hi Ahmed,

I’m curious if the update, that will fix both issues, will still be released today or tomorrow ?? Any news around this update?

    Thanks in advance!

    Kind regards,
    Kelly

We were not able to release an update because of the national holidays going on here, but we will be releasing it by Monday hopefully.

Haven’t seen it yet ?? Will it be released this week?

There was some delay due to holidays and weekends. It’s 99% done, we just have to test the code and deploy it. Hopefully be out by Monday. Version number will be 0.9.98.5

    Hi Ahmed,

Thanks for your response. Is it correct that a YouTube video is still not showing in an AMP post. For example: https://trainertom.nl/drie-effectieve-rugoefeningen-die-je-nooit-doet/amp/

I guess it has something to do with the ‘Not ready to push’ comment here: https://github.com/ahmedkaludi/accelerated-mobile-pages/issues/3444

Any idea when this feature will be released?

    Thanks again!

    Kind regards,
    Kelly

Yes, there were few things left in that code. Hopefully we will be pushing it this week.

Hi Ahmed. Just to be sure: is this already merged in one of the latest updates?

It’s taking a bit longer than expected but hopefully, this will be out soon.

    Hi Ahmed!

I was curious if you have any updates regarding the featured YouTube video issue within an AMP post. I don’t want to rush you but I’m just wondering if the update that will fix this issue will be released soon ??

    Thanks again and kind regards,

I’m really ashamed of the wrong deadline Kelly, We decided to change the strategy of the development and delopyment actually and due to which we couldn’t meet the old deadline, but the new strategy will allow us to push better features going forward,

To be honest, if you want to track the progress of this feature, you can do so here on https://github.com/ahmedkaludi/accelerated-mobile-pages/issues/3668
