Hi … I’m a WordPress neophyte and one of your forum supporters recommended I use Firefox’s Firebug to peek at the HTML code when trying to position an image in a header. Is there anyway I can use Firebug to examine another blog’s widgets to find out the particular widget name. For example, if I want to use the same “Tag” widget that is shown in the right hand column of the blog https://blogs.wsd1.org/etr/ can I right click on the “Tags:” bar and inspect this element to find the Widget name? If this is not the case, is there a particular line of HTML or CSS code that reveals the particular widget name? It has been stated that “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” and I hope to find a method to help me identify WordPress Widgets and components in other blogs that I can include to make my blog better.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks for your help. Brian

  • How can I determine what widget is used in another blog?

No, and youre better off to just ask the owner of the site anyway.

“imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” only works if youre honest and forthright. otherwise it’s just called theft. **especially on the Web.**

Whooami … Thanks for clarifying that one cannot examine code to determine what widgets are being used. Following your recommendation, when I see a component that I think will enhance my blog, I’ll definitely contact the owner and ask for information about the feature.
