How do I create a background color on Thesis?

Hello – I am so new to Thesis and WordPress design and set up. I purchased Thesis but want to customize it to have a colored background and other features. Where do I go and how do I add color to the background? I have a Color Picker and know the exact color I want. I just can’t figure out where to go to make the change.
