That’s intentional. For performance and dynamic features, the sharing endpoints are only updated upon click/tap.

Okay, but when the links are clicked, they just open up a new tab that redirects back to the original website?

That symptom indicates something else is interfering with links and/or JavaScript events on your pages.

Troubleshoot by temporarily switching themes and deactivating other plugins to find the root cause. When you find the culprit, report the issue to the theme or plugin’s author so they can get it resolved in an update.

Upon further review, it only seems to be doing that for the “Pinterest” share button. Any idea why or suggestions on how to resolve?

Could be the site’s Content Security Policy (CSP) disallowing ‘unknown’ third party scripts such as Pinterest’s. If you have a security plugin activated, it’s probably setting the site’s CSP.

Look into using your browser’s ‘developer tools’ console to view console messages that will shed some clues.

If you’re still stuck, post a link to your site so folks here can help you troubleshoot.

Thanks for the clarification. I am seeing the following error in the console:

“Loading failed for the <script> with source “https://assets.pinterest.com/js/pinmarklet.js”.
