    Good afternoon and great plugin.

Do I submit the main sitemaps url (ex: /sitemaps.xml) to Google Search Console, or each sitemap url separately (ex: /sitemaps/post-sitemap1.xml)?

I have tried doing both but Google Search Console keeps saying couldn’t fetch. I have cleared my cache and my robots.txt file is not blocking.

    Thank you,

    – Onette

    Hi,
    only the index sitemap (sitemaps.xml).
What’s the URL of your xml sitemaps?
Sometimes, you just need to hit refresh from Google Search Console to solve the “could not fetch error”.

Hi there, the url is here: https://bcbud.store/sitemaps.xml

It is still not working – I have tried numerous times over the past week and Google Search Console keeps giving the “Could not fetch” error.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi,
    your XML sitemap looks fine.
Try to remove it from GSC and submit it again.
Once done, is you see an error, just refresh the page (F5) and it should be OK.

    Good afternoon,

The issue persists. I removed all the old sitemaps. Then re-submitted the new sitemap link as mentioned above. Google Search Console says “couldn’t fetch”. When you click on the submitted error/sitemap it says “Sitemap could not be read”. I refreshed many times, clearing the cache, with no luck.

I successfully submitted sitemaps before and never had a problem – this is the first time i have used your plugin and the sitemaps that it generates.

    Any ideas?

I think I understand the issue.
When I try to load your sitemaps, the first time, I see a Cloudflare screen.
This is why Google can’t read it because it’s not an XML file.
You have to tell Cloudflare to NOT cache XML and XSL files.

Thank you kindly – that worked and that was the issue. I bypassed the main sitemaps url on my page with Cloudflare and Google Search Console got successfully crawled the sitemap.

    Thank you!
