Unless you provide a free license (like Wordfence), not everybody will get a license.
Please be thoughtful make the nag dismissable.

Please make it dismissable. We simply use your plugin for minor tweaks and have no intention at all to upgrade, especially for such a hefty price tag to it.

This is a free version. But the license request? Hahahaaa

I think it’s an error.
The plugin run correctly, but the message still remain on top of all admin page.
I think there is a pro version that require a license key.

I can’t delete or deactivate the plugin either. Please make it go away.

Sorry guys, this is a bug in the updater. I’m fixing it. Will release a new version today.

Just released version 5.0.1 to fix this issue.

Some notes:

– The notification is displayed only when you installed premium extensions. If you use Meta Box with free extensions, there’s no notification at all.
– If you buy a theme from ThemeForest or somewhere, then you might need to ask your theme author to hide it for you. See this discussion for details: https://metabox.io/support/topic/metabox-warning/

the automatic update of the plugin is no longer and I must introduce a license key. My items are no longer visible in the front end. Is this normal? The plugin is no longer free?

Hi @hbms,

The plugin is still free and always will be.

The update notification is displayed only when you have premium extension. It will never show if you just use the free version.

Regarding displaying items on the front end, please check your code to get and display values. It has nothing to do with the update system.

We are using the free version of Meta Box. What’s the problem?

Because you’re using a premium extension (Meta Box Tabs), you see the notification. As I explained in a reply above, the notification appears only when you use at least one premium extension. In this case, it’s Meta Box Tabs.

Please purchase a license on our website and you can upgrade the plugin without any problem.

I just want to deactivate the premium extension (Meta Box Tabs), but i can’t.

Everytime the message that i have to purchase a license pops-up.
