I decided to change the name of my website home page to add “Australia” to the end so I went to “Pages” and edited the Home Page title to “%sitename% Australia”.

I only wanted Australia to be in the title of the Home Page, not any other pages.

For some reason, Google has now appended “- %sitename% Australia” to all the pages in my WooCommerce shop including category page titles, product tag page titles and brand page titles even though these have not been modified in WordPress.

To illustrate, Google now shows category page titles as “%term% %page% %sep% %sitename% – %sitename% Australia” but when I look at the page source code for that page it only shows the “%term% %page% %sep% %sitename%” part in the title tag.

Why is Google appending my custom Home Page title to all page titles in my WooCommerce shop?

I am using the Rank Math SEO plugin. Could it be causing this issue?

    Hi @saucemaniashop

I’m fairly certain that this is happening within the Rank Math SEO Plugin. Could you take a look at the Rank Math SEO settings to see if the SEO settings have any other custom URLs configured in its settings, if so, please delete them to see if this fixes the problem.

In case it doesn’t, I’d recommend using another plugin such as Yoast SEO to see if that helps.
