Link a content to the menu titles

Hi, I have created the main menu and I am trying to add some content to the items.
I have added a description in the description fields offered for each menu item but that doesn’t show when I click on them.
It’s very odd. Maybe I am too inexperienced or I don’t see the pur[pose of having a menu that links to no content at all. Please, someone help. Thanks
