Error – 504 Gateway Time Out

I hope you are now able to help with the issue below please?

I am having an issue in wordpress when I attempt to “replace domain url” via the “search and replace’ plugin. I continue to get the error message;

504 Gateway Time-out
The server didn’t respond in time.

I have restarted my router and desktop computer, cleared google cache. And tried from three different computers, including the local library. My hosting support has also been assisting for the last 12 hours but, without any success.

I would appreciate your assistance please as my site has just been published live and all internal links are still directing to the old staging site url.
