• I don’t know why, but everytime I open post.php to write a new post, Safari become sluggish!
When I type a letter, it shows up with 1 second delay, if I click on another tab I have to wait for 5-10 seconds before it actually changes, and everything is very slow.
This happens only with post.php. Am I the only one who’s experiencing this?

  • I have noticed the same thing. It seems that posting is what is slow from safari. I have seen it take a couple of minutes to send info from the form. Until the form has actually cleared the post hasn’t made it to your mysql database.
I have noticed that when the tab with the admin form does clear it shows up instantly on the page. The POST from safari is slow. I would try and see if the Surfin Safari blog has anything to say about it.

I think I have the solution for this and I submitted into Mostquit a waek or so ago.

The problom is that the form action does not have the full url, just the filename.

No, the problem is a known problem, and not just Safari’s problem. Basically, you have “PingBack the URIs in this post” checked in your post window. As soon as you hit “Publish”, your post is published (I use Safari 24/7), post.php doesn’t load again until all pings are sent. Sometimes this due to momentary slowness of the linked sites.

Actually– pingbacks aside– Safari has issues. It’s a great browser until you start posting in WP or PHP. Download this–

    — until Apple fixes Safari.

    (Yay– I answered a question!)

Ummm…. And yet, I reintegrate that I use Safari all the time (Firefox as a backup/development browser) and have only had intermittent slowness with posting. In those situations, however, it has only been due to WP sending out the pingbacks.
