Sidebar : Multiple Authors Show

Within the author widget (which I’ve added to my main sidebar) there is a box that says “Display all authors (including those who have not written any posts)”. I DO NOT have this box selected. However, I still see more than one author on each post. If I DO select the box, I actually see duplicate author sections.
