Different style for admin and author comments

Couldn’t find a codex page for it, so i hope that covers it.. ??

Still looking for a correct way to do this.

I have this:

.bypostauthor{
background-color: #4d535f;
color: white;
}

.comment-author-admin{
background-color:#000;
color:white;
}

The problem comes in the replies, admin comments become authors color.

Is there a way to have admin comments in a specific color, no matter the depth of it ?

What you have now should style the
<li> with a class of .comment-author-admin The comments by the admin will have that class applied to them no matter what depth they are.
