Remove Friends tab in profile

  • Hello. I am trying to remove and/or rename the “Friends” tab. I was able to easily remove the Groups tab by creating a custom theme and commenting out the “li” line for it in profile-tpl.php, but I don’t see a label called “Friends” anywhere.

    I also have the premium custom tabs plugin as well. I assume this may change things.

    Thank you for writing to us.

    You can disable the Friends tab in profile from ProfileGrid settings. Please refer to the following steps to disable the Friends tabs :

    1) Login to WordPress dashboard & go to “ProfileGrid >> Global Settings >> Friends System” menu.

    2) Here disable the option ‘Allow/ Disallow Making Friends’ and save it.

    Currently ProfileGrid does not allow renaming of the Friends tab.

    This isn’t the answer I was looking for exactly, but I solved it for anyone else wondering. If you want to rename the Friends tab simply edit the file:

    wp-content/plugins/profilegrid-user-profiles-groups-and-communities/public/class-profile-magic-public.php

    Replace the occurrence of ‘Friends’ within the function pm_show_friends_tab with whatever you want it to say.
