Hi, often the guests in our podcast episodes would like to add it to their own website.
Can you suggest a way to offer an embed code through a button or link under the player please?

    Thanks,
Still a massive fan of SSP, we have over 700 episodes now!

  • If your guests have WordPress built websites, they should be able to use the Audio player that’s built into the widgets along with the url to the episode. They’ll need to remove everything after the ? in order to get it to play.
We do this with a subset of our own episodes on a different site that we manage, and it works decently.

    Me again (different login, sorry…)
We can’t be assured they use WordPress unfortunately.

I see the podcast episode edit page creates an embed code down in the bottom right. Is there any way to access that via a field or variable?

I believe the “Episode Embed Code” in the bottom-right corner of any post editor screen will give you an iFrame that you can embed anywhere. Is that what you’re looking for?

Yes Craig, thanks. Can we access that to add to a copy button automatically? Is it stored in the database anywhere?

Looks like it’s getting the post URL, title, and Podcast name only, so you ought to be able to draw those from the DB and/or pre-populate some of those values. Might take a bit of dev work but certainly looks possible

OK, thanks, will let you know how we get on ??

Hope we were able to answer that question for you. I’m going to close this thread, but if you need additional help please feel free to reach out.
