    Hi.
I’m using Paid Member Subscriptions along with BuddyPress and Events Manager. I would like to have both “public” and “private” events.

I’d like that when a guest clicks on a member event on the calendar (or categories/tags/locations/etc), he or she can see the event title but cannot see the details of the event. A guest would only be allowed to see “public” events.

I have member events set to be visible only to members, but even guests can also see the event details. I have used the pms shortcode to restrict some content on the event description but the event details show anyway. The only difference is that it shows up formatted for members.

How can I hide the member event details from page guests?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @thatnewmommy,

Did you manage to apply the restriction ? I am seeing that the private event from your calendar is not accessible by logged out users.

In some cases, the message type restriction might not work correctly, it depends on how the content of the page is displayed into the front-end. In such cases, the Redirect restriction should work or you could use the [pms-restrict] if you have access to this content and you can apply the shortcode to it.

    Regards.

I changed the calendar plugin because the Event Manager plugin required a location. With the new calendar plugin what I did was for the private event omit the venue from the calendar, add the venue details in the event description, and then use the pms-restrict shortcode. Which works for me really. BUT, I still get a popup on the main page of the calendar which shows everything I “pms-restricted” on the description.

Can you edit the popup ? If so, you need to add the shortcode in it as well. It depends where it takes it’s data from.

Thank you. I’ll check editing the pop-up. =o)
