Even/odd classes (“zebra striping”)

Hello!
I’d like to have even/odd classes added to each item rendered with ALM. Ultimately, this is so I can alternate background colours for a list view (aka “zebra striping”), but it would also enable someone to do a checkerboard grid as well.
What is the most efficient way to do this, on the server side?

Wow, I had no idea, but CSS has a rule for this!
Example:
.alm-listing li:nth-child(even) { background: #CCC !important; } .alm-listing li:nth-child(odd) { background: #FFF !important; }Here’s a PHP method, from a comment left by Darren (do a find for “odd”):
To be used in a repeater template:
