Terms & Conditions Checkbox Disappeared on Checkout Page, Impossible to Checkout

    Hi

    I all of a sudden have noticed that the “I’ve read and accepted the Terms and Conditions” checkbox, next to the complete checkout payment options buttons has disappeared!

    As a result, customers cannot complete checkout.
    An error pops up at the top asking them to check the check box, which has vanished ??

    FYI the Terms and Conditions settings in the back end are all complete.
    I even tested deleting these, and you can then complete checkout.
    But then resetting these settings, the same error occurs.

    I have asked my theme developer (Zakra theme by Themegrill) https://themegrill.com/themes/zakra/ and they recommended me that this is not a problem to do with their side of things, and it could be a Woocommerce issue.

    Looking forward to any help as this is obviously a slightly big problem for my store ??

    FYI to anyone who might see this, I have tried disabling ALL plugins, other than Woocommerce, and no difference was seen.

    Does this mean it could be a Woocommerce issue?

    Can you please also try switching your theme to Storefront and test the checkout process again? This will help us rule out your theme as a root cause.

    To add to @treibalen make sure you have it added in the settings and that it didn’t some how show empty. Make sure you the page is selected in the backend.

    So maybe it’s a matter of checking your settings and making sure it’s selected as the page.

    Everything was set up correctly in the back end.
    I deleted & re-entered the settings.

    While the Privacy Policy notification on the checkout page was visible, the Terms and Conditions check box was not.

    @treibalen I’m a little scared of switching themes at this stage as I have spent over a month working on getting this one just perfect ??

    As a work around though, I deleted both the Privacy Policy & Terms setups in the Woocommerce back end settings, and just added text underneath the page content to notify of these details.

    Seems to do the job and saves further complication… although I wish I thought of that 5 minute fix like 8 hours ago haha.

    Great to hear. Just in the future you won’t lose anything by switching themes. Maybe the menus will disable but if done really quickly nothing should be affected when temporarily switching themes.

    @treibalen I’m a little scared of switching themes at this stage as I have spent over a month working on getting this one just perfect ??

    For issues like this one, we recommend creating a staging site where you can run tests without affecting your live site and not being worried about losing any of your site configurations.

    If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

    Hi, I have encountered the same issue, The text appears as “I have read and agree to the website terms and conditions” but there isn’t a checkbox next to it. And so the orders couldn’t be completed. If anyone of you have resolved this issue please advise the solution.

    @vbzl It’s easier if you start your own post. I will however tell you you should disable the TOU until you can fix it. That way you don’t lose any sales.
