Received Import Success Message, But Nothing Was Imported

I am moving a site from WordPress.com. I exported the zip file of the site, using the find and replace for the database table prefix. I confirmed the exported zip file contained the themes, plugins, and uploads folders. On the new site, I uploaded a small zip file via Media manager as suggested, then uploaded the actual zip file via FTP. Upon importing, the import completes immediately with no delay, and says “WordPress imported successfully”, however nothing was actually imported. Do you have any advice?
