We ran into the issue of not having a search engine working on the DataTables that have multiple folders. I have created a search engine that will search both folder and file names and return results with downloads to each file or link to the folder view. How can I share this with the community? I wonder if it might be of interest for you in future versions.

The pro edition will have that via ajax. I’ve already written it.

I can add that to the non-pro edition but it would have to involve a page reload on search submit, otherwise, again, in an ajax call the server wouldn’t know how to style and filter the results.

You can send me your solution to [email protected] and I will check it out.

Reminder: if you are using a recursive table you won’t need this solution. It’s only an issue with directory tree nav.

My guess is your AJAX solution is the same as mine. I used recursive tables. I will send you a copy anyway. Never know if there is anything useful in it!

    Hi Guys,
I have the same kind of requirement. I want to search file in all directories. Even non-ajax won’t be any issue.

Could you please share the solution with us or has it been added to the newer versions by the plugin developer?

Yes could you please still share this? Very interested in something that allows us to search subdirectories.

    Hey,

what is the situation with this feature? You’ve said “The pro edition will have that via ajax. I’ve already written it.” I couldn’t find any pro edition for this plugin.

@jeynon is this something you can share?
