For others reading this, in general PHP notices and errors are not any cause for alarm. They often occur because the most recent version of PHP has changed some functions. Sometimes, the errors are unavoidable when making a plugin compatible with prior versions of PHP. Other times the fix won’t break prior versions of PHP, and we update the code in those instances.
