Confusing support

The support does give confusing statements, like the following
When you uninstall the plugin all data will be deleted. In case you no longer need the database, you can delete it with no worries.
What is the fact now? If I do deinstall, existing data is deleted in any case, and if so, how will I update then?
Or, if not so, how is it done without deleting existing date?
Or what is the meaning you can delet woth no worries?Somehow afraid to read documentation in this manner….
